JFK's trip to Mexico

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

These are two matching photos of JFK. One is signed to me and the other to my father. Story is that when JFK and Jackie came to Mexico City in 1962 there was a reception at the new embassy. My father was included in the personal greeting line and he brought me along. I was six. I remember my father holding me up in his arms and shaking JFK’s hand. He asked him to sign two portraits for us which were sent later. (They are actual signatures. Not an autopen).

These photos are from JFK's offcial visit to Mexico City on June 29, 1962. At left is Mexican president Adolfo Lopez Mateos. Win Scott had a close bond with Mateos that spawned the LITEMPO Operation that became legendary in CIA circles. This newsreel below details the official vist.
